If you have time for but one province in China, Yunnan should be it.

Yunnan - The most beautiful province in China
A bold statement – but one we can justify!
We are located in the Yunnan province for a reason. It has the most agreeable climate, the best pace of life and the most stunning landscapes. The people are laid-back, easy going and incredibly friendly.
Within Yunnan you can experience a wide variety of climates and the old saying, “You can enjoy all four seasons on the same mountain, where each of these four season is only a few miles distant from the others” certainly holds true.
From the mild temperate climate of Kunming, ‘City of Eternal Spring’, where the temperature rarely falls below 10° C in the winter or above 25°C in the summer, to the tropical paradise of Xishuangbanna in the south, there is something for everyone.
Wildlife & Plants
Yunnan has an incredible biodiversity, with the greatest number of plant species (more than 18,000) and the greatest number of animal species of any province in China including the Asian elephant and the protected Yunnan golden monkey, both exclusively found in Yunnan.
Yunnan province is the most southwest region of China bordering the countries of Vietnam, Laos and Burma. Visas and direct flights to all these countries are readily available in Kunming, providing travellers with a fantastic opportunity to travel there before or after visiting Yunnan, or even for weekend excursions.
The main thing that sets Yunnan apart from all other provinces in China is its diverse population of ethnic groups. Within Yunnan there are 25 ethnic minorities, which is nearly half the total in all of China.
