Great programme. Before coming out i was fairly nervous about how i would cope; however, from both an organisational and teaching perspective, i needn't have feared!

Don't be fooled by the online pessimists: learning mandarin is possible, especially if you go about by living the language and culture.

Yunnan is an incredible place; if you are going just as a small group, I should suggest that you miss out Beijing and spend more time there.

Small class size certainly helped, as it really was more tutoring than classes. Also good having the teacher as guide, as you can practice what you have learnt in bars, restaurants, etc.

Great to have done something that is not only useful but also bloody good fun.

I feel that the lessons have given us a very good start. The teaching was of a very good standard.

I really enjoyed Dali and Shaxi, especially the less touristy parts. The bike riding around and the mountain climbing was stunning.

Cross-the-bridge rice noodles was my favourite. The food during the course was very nice, mostly fairly spicy.

A very good basis in Chinese and I very much enjoyed seeing a less touristy China.
